I am not sure about your last water-cooler conversation, but I know on my recent final day of work we were all up in arms about Christmas trees being such huge jerks over the  years. But no worries, Captain Pine Beetle himself to the rescue with his new Christmas Tree Tax just in time for--- Christmas. 

That's correct dear readers, President Ba-humbug's Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees. Who knows why as the Christmas Tree Association already exists to promote their cause, see link .

Millions of Americans out of work, the economy in shambles, debt threatening to destroy the country, and this guy can’t think of anything better to worry about than Christmas trees? Breathtaking. This epitomizes Obama economics--raise natural Christmas tree prices to increase sales!

Guess where the money goes and win yourself a chocolate covered Santa! Yes, ANOTHER GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACY called the Christmas Tree Promotion Board. Wait til the ACLU gets ahold of that name. It will quickly be renamed to the Holiday Tree Promotion Board. All we hear from the Left is the separation of church and state wails--where are they now? And since when can a tax originate in the Executive Branch?

Did I miss something? Was there a lack of promotion? Not sure where you reside, but hey I am surrounded by year round Christmas light hangers! Does not Target pretty much roll out their Christmas decor on about New Year's Eve nowadays?

I can see the new slogan now in a rally to revive the floundering Jewish vote- "Christians taxed on trees, Jews get tax-free Menorah candles, vote for me 2012." As well, I surmise the Artificial Tree Manufacturer's Union just cut the Bamster a donation check.

To conclude, if I am a natural Christmas tree vendor, I put out a sign that says "15 cents-the Obama I Hate Your Religion Tax". The 15 cent Burka Tax, no where to be found.

When asked this week by a Minneapolis CBS affiliate reporter whether President Obama thought Americans were better off than they were when he took office, he responded, "Well, you know, I think we are better off now than we would have been if I hadn’t taken all the steps that we took. We’ve made steady progress."

President Crystal Ball just finished his annual physical last week. Certainly, he was not subject to being tested for crack.

 "We are"---that would be Barry, Moochelle and the girls. "Better off"---than what, a Cambodian tribal member? The Earth splitting in two? The Iranians accidentally launching nuclear missles? Roseann Barr being trapped inside of Country Buffet? Perhaps. "Steady progress"---toward what, a cliff? Captain Delusional is clearly showing his hand as to his new 2012 campaign slogan---"It could have been worse."

With a lie like that, I have only one piece of advice for the President--- please avoid flammable clothing! And while we are on the topic, if the Prez was at a movie theatre and yelled "fire", I believe everyone attending would say "pass the popcorn, the source of the announcement is Obama."

The only thing I could conclude he meant to say was "There are more little people receiving welfare and food stamps under my Regime than any other Regime in history and for that I am grateful."

What is ironic, although not surprising from President Barack and Forth, is just 3 weeks ago he said Americans were not better off, see here. But I know, that is an unfair comparison, as all of Obama's statements have a 3 day expiration date.

In concluding, the President's manufacturing numbers are up--- that would be producing Bee-Ess which is delivered by the mainstream media, labeled as the truth and purchased by 52% of America.

The President is in Colorado coincidentally a swing state today campaigning announcing his new effort to get votes school loan modification program. The only supportive population he has left, the Stupid Vote, will certainly be drooling over the Emperor who chose to, once again, side-step Congress on an issue.

Yes, these po, po students who agreed to the conditions of a loan when they began their pursuit of their diploma with a major in Bowling Industry Management and a minor in Marijuana Cultivation now whining about their school debt being forgiven due to their inability to obtain a job in their field of study. Ya think?

A President that has not taken any responsibility for his actions and administration is now teaching our youth that they do not have to take responsibility for their actions. Our future looks great.

But, as is evidenced in this recent poll, 66% of Americans are opposed to this idea of easing their loan obligations. Once again, President Contrariran code three to the rescue! A Cash for Clunkers program with a tassel, AWESOME!

The amount at risk: $1 trillion in outstanding school loans. Who is at risk of paying it back: the 53% of Americans who pay taxes. Just because Pres. Food Stamp wants to forgive your debt, does not mean the debt goes away. It simply becomes the burden of the rest of us.

The MIA mainstream media will not challenge President Candyman on a single point. What is the most obvious question that needs to be asked of him as he rants about saving them money so they can "start up their own businesses, buy a home, have children"-- how much will the average student save per month under the new guidelines? Per an analysis at this link, LESS THAN $10 per month! Instead, we have the media saying "Hey, look over there, the Michael Jackson trial!"

You mopes want free tuition-- do 8 years in the military-- problem solved.

The real issue with school debt escalation--an average annual 8% tuition inflation rate, not to mention exorbitant book fees. Why not address that Pres. Precious? Oh, that's right, academia overwhelmingly supports a Democrat's agenda. Case closed.

Who are these kids? Hey, the same ones who are rioting in Oakland and Atlanta --that's right, liberal protesters in liberal cities run by liberal local government, all being tear-gassed last night at their Occupy I Wanna Freebie movement. And, who owns these "Occupiers"--that would be Barack Hussein Obama who on October 18th stated "In some ways, they’re not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party". In closing, I finished college with zero debt. Yes, I had to humbly deliver flowers and tutor other students, so be it. My wife had a school loan that we paid off early. My oldest son graduated debt-free and my youngest, at most, may have to borrow money for his senior year from the Hallock Foundation for Unemployed Children. Amazingly, we all chose majors in fields that we might have a chance to be employed by and none have us have ever thought of walking away from an agreement we made. Yes, our family is the new minority in America, the responsible.

When a Republican Congressman demanded a fraud investigation, the Social Security agency ruled this week his payments were legitimate and would not cease his funding. Uhhh--the only one who needs government assistance in this situation is the person responsible for cleaning out the 5 lb. Kentucky Browns in his Snugglies !

When Cradle to Grave Nanny Child initially learned of the investigation, he responded "If you go after my payments I am going to kill myself. Next time you see me on the news, it will be me in a body bag.” OK, let Dave do the math: Hundreds of thousands of dollars for you to suck on the government teat or $300 for an XXXL cute, baby blue body bag. I am all about cost savings. Maybe there is a place for Death Panels in Obamacare after all.

Thornton claimed "All my illnesses have had extensive testing" he wrote on his site. That's correct, "he wrote on his site"-- cause as we all know, all disabled 2 year olds have a website. Furthermore, Stan resides at his California apartment where he has built himself a giant crib, play pen and even a man-sized high chair. When I was two, I could build a mound of nothing with my Lincoln Logs. Even at age 50+, whipping out the chicken coop was a real test of my woodwork skills. It would not even qualify for the medal round in the Special Olympics of Carpentry. Seriously, I think my hens still chuckle about their housing. But Stan, he is quite the carpenter as evidenced here constructing his own high chair and crib:

OWS (Occupy the Wrong Street)

Speaking of the White House, who loves them the Occupiers? Barrack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. What the mainstream media, whose articles about OWS outnumber the actual protesters, won't reveal is Obama himself has collected more money from Wall Street than any other president in the past 20 years. In addition, Queen Nan is married to Paul who is an-- d r u m r o l l--  INVESTMENT BANKER. Much of his wealth was attributed to selling evil corporations Apple and Cisco stock pocketing almost $3 million dollars last year. Utter hypocrisy.

Anyone else notice the timing? Just as the Solyndra scandal is getting legs as is the entire Fast and Furious debacle,  seemingly out of nowhere, the Community Organizer in Chief is able to launch his Neanderthal street festivals. Coincidence? Doubtful.

I think Herman Cain, my guy (right now) for Pres. 2012 said it best, "the movement is comprised of jealous Americans who play the victim card and want to take somebody else’s Cadillac."  He added "Occupy Wall Street is merely a distraction so that many people won’t focus on the failed policies of the Obama administration.” Essentially, the chant is "What do we want, we don't know".."When do we want it...NOW".

To conclude, I really don't get it. Who owns the largest insurance company in America? Who is the biggest land owner in the USA? Who runs the biggest retirement plan in America? Who bailed out those evil banks? Car companies? Who allowed the credit swaps to the behemoth mortgage companies that started the downfall ? That would be the EVIL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

As of October 1st, all Bank of America customers (and soon to be many others) will see a new $5.00 per month fee for using their debit card, simply from here on out to be known as The Dick Fee, courtesy of the author of the legislation Senator Dick Durbin, a Democratic Senator from Illinois. While fondly known to most of us as Richard, his girlfriends called him Dick, for short. Don't confuse the Senator though with his boss who has the same name which I blogged about here.

Now, let's take a walk inside of Mr. Durbin's cavernous head. Essentially, here is his creation-- "I pity the retailers who are being screwged by their banks. These evil institutions have imposed a 44 cent fee per debit card transaction on the stores and my law caps the fee at 24 cents per purchase. Isn't this awesome cause now this will save these businesses annually $6 billion and next campaign session retailers will vote for me all while I simultaneously mount my Banks are Evil horse. Additionally, with this new "saving" for the store, indeed they will drop their retail prices for the consumer and the banks will play along nicely. I am so smart."

Uh, no.

You see readers, Dick has ZERO private sector experience. Who do you think is going to pay for the $6 billion in LESS revenue to banks his legislation created--THE CONSUMER, hence Bank of America's new $5 per month fee.

Dick, clearly you are afflicted by Career Politician Syndrome, so a few fundamentals on how retail businesses work:

• While retailers could have griped about bank fees, the reality is they had already priced the 44 cent fee into their product when they established the sales prices of their goods.
• If you think we are now going to see "All merchandise 20 cents off", think again-- show us the evidence.
• Research shows stores who accept debit cards increase their revenue by 33% versus restricting to cash or checks, so retailers were readily on board. Consumers enjoy ease and convenience.
• Debit cards are preferred by these stores over checks as plastic doesn't bounce as much as paper. As an offset to dealing with the hazards of accepting checks, retailers were willing to absorb the cost as there was an intrinsic benefit.

I viewed an evening news report on this story Friday night when competing banks were interviewed and as a whole when asked about them establishing a debit card fee the answer was "not YET". Of course, they are going to hold out in hopes of hordes of consumers dumping BofA for their bank. But this is a classic last man standing scenario with XYZ Bank, who held out the longest, saying "we had no other choice, we had to establish a debit card fee. But please still love us as we were last."

The more savvy consumers will do what I do Dick, use a credit union, which your legislation did not impact. Or, they will use their credit card in lieu of the debit card and pay it in full when the bill comes due. Perhaps they will dump their debit card for the check or cash option. The loss of revenue to banks will far exceed $6 billion dollars and then they will be forced to look at other income sources (or reduce expenses, ie, fire employees), further impacting all bank clientele. Or maybe they will simply fail knowing your minions will come to their rescue and bail them out. Yes, government intervention which was never needed.

As to Dick's reaction when told of Bank America's new debit card fee, he stated "Bank of America is trying to find new ways to pad their profits by sticking it to its customers.” You Dick reduced their revenue and don't expect them to adjust? Laughable, as this time next year you will see the majority of banks imposing a similar fee.

In conclusion, all Dick has done is rearranged the collection agency-- out with the store, in with the bank, all with "good intentions", but as usual, BLIND to the (obvious) unintended consequences. The retailers will not lower their prices and bank customers now have a $60 annual debit card fee. Who will have trouble handling the fee-- THE POOR, the very ones Dick's party claims to protect. Brilliant.

Smoke meet mirrors. Gunshot meet foot. 

"Protection" of the consumer and the poor ends in 474 days.

What's a mother to do? Apparently, none of Moochelle's 24 assistants were available, so she had to haul herself to Target to pick up a few things. Of course, she also had to drag the 5 armor-coated SUVs and a couple of dozen special agents cause nothing says "cost savings" like being escorted by your full compliment of Federal agents with you to Target!

Imagine the conversation that preceded this visit. "Well Michelle, you have really come off as a pompous, arrogant biatch so we need to arrange something to enhance your image as a commoner." Her response "Well, Nieman Marcus has a clearance rack."

Oh, and what are the odds of an Associated Press photographer coincidentally arriving at the same time?. Somewhere between slim and none. But what skills he has staging this photo op-- Ms. Michelle O'thrifty, those bags you are carrying---uhh, they go in the cart. I know sweetheart, it's been awhile. And speaking of, as the Queen of Green, why are you in possession of those plastic bags? And does Barry know you are in a non-union store?


What would have been hilarious would be the store pulling its security video and seeing all of the dark suit personnel with their ear pieces scurrying around the aisles dodging all of the real, thrifty moms and their strollers as Michelle wandered aimlessly pretending she was highly focused on Target merchandise. Rumor has it this photo here was on the video feed.

Yes folks, they are just like us. Well, except when she is wearing $42,000 of jewelry at a fundraiser...or when she is wearing her Recession Wear $540 sneakers at a soup kitchen...or when she is taking an $80,000 per day vacation..yes, Michelle, the queen of coupon clippers!

What is more disheartening than the staged photo op is the belief Michelle thinks she is fooling us. All staged, all a fraud, all a facade. But, who can blame her realizing she fooled 52% of America 3 years ago.

Any HOPE for reelection is circling the drain. Let's visit the recent deceit and scandals of the Obama administration of the past 10 days. And, as you read each one, precede it by thinking "What if George Bush would have done this?" ...

1) Solyndra- The Bush administration effectively says "no way" to the application from this solar fiasco. Along comes the Obama thugocracy who agree to a below industry loan rate and hands out a half-billion dollars of taxpayer money, AGAINST the desires of their own evaluation team. One model shows bankruptcy forecasted for Sept 2011--take one guess when they went paws up? Guess what executives are pleading the 5th amendment at the upcoming Congressional hearings? Timeline here .

2) Fast and Furious- The one scandal that should absolutely lead to impeachment. In my best Larry the Cable Guy voice, "I have an idea'er. Let's allow gun dealers along the Mexican borders to sell automatic weapons to illegals and to the hood. We will tell Americans we are tracking them to eventually prove how evil guns are so we progressives can institute tighter gun laws. What could go wrong?" Only one MINOR problem, the administration was unable to follow the weapons. RESULTS: 200 innocent victims dead in Mexico along with one U.S. Border Patrolman at the hands of these weapons. 3) Lightsquared- A four starred general has indicated the White House tried to pressure him to change his testimony involving a pet project of the Obama administration. Essentially, General William Shelton was asked to reword his opinion involving bandwidth interference being caused by Lightsquared, a satellite broadband company and, of course, A LARGE OBAMA DONOR. Ya see, Lightsquare's signal has a high probability of disrupting the less powerful GPS beams which might be a weeney-teeney problem when the Boeing 767 is on final approach on a foggy night and his guidance system goes kappoey. Just a lil problem the General was trying to relay to President I Don't Care.  Scandal here .

4) (Save My) Jobs Bill- It turned out to be exactly as was suspected--an attempt to present a dead on arrival bill to make the GOP appear as obstructionists. One unexpected issue, the Democrats in the Senate won't pass it either as it is written. A backfire bigger than Hillary's ankles and Moochelle's rumpus combined! Obama wanted bi-partisan agreement and got it--the House and Senate both dislike it.

5) Millionaires Blah Blah- "Middle class families shouldn't pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires", Obama said Monday. Even the Obama loving Associated Press called out President Class Warfare on this boldface lie. Once again, those pesky things called facts-- IRS statistics in 2009 showed 98% of all millionaires paid more income tax than the lower income bracket folks.Details here  and here . Once again, another pure rant from King Strawman.

6) "Confidence Men"- The book outlining the abuse former Obama female staffers received in the White House was released this week by Pulitzer winning author Ron Suskind. Before you rush to conclude Ron is probably Rush Limbaugh's brother-in-law, he is not. As a matter of fact, Mr. Suskind also authored some not so kind memoirs of George W. Bush.

7) Chicago Tribune- When your homey town newspaper says it's time for you to hit the links full time, perhaps it is. It's just too bad the press is 3.5 years late to the party. Read here .

Obama trying to solve our unemployment crisis is like being stuck in a dark room on a moonless night trying to find a black cat, IT AIN'T HAPPENIN' FOLKS! The consequence of placing someone in charge of the USA who has ZERO business experience continues to reveal itself. As I have pointed out before in a previous post, surrounding yourself with a Cabinet who has a grand total of 8% of its members having any private sector experience results in abysmal proposals such as the recent American Jobs Act, also known as Son of (Failed) Stimulus, a bastard child.

This is nothing more than Cash for Clunkers and the Homebuyers Tax Credit with a different mask whose only intent is to create a large volume of results in a short period of time with ZERO LONG TERM IMPACT costing us BILLION$ we do not have. Let's look specifically at the ludicrous proposal of offering up a $4,000 tax credit for businesses who hire someone who has been unemployed for a minimum of six months from the perspective of the business owner.

First, I don't hire based upon a measly incentive, I add an employee because my business needs the new employee as my sales/services are in demand. Improving a flailing economy is about creating an environment that stirs up new or repeat customers, not about adding a payroll member who comes to work to learn he has nothing to do. I am going to hire regardless if the net effect on my bottom line is positive. Only in Obama's math classroom does $4,000 look bigger than the $40,000 it takes in salary, benefits and training expenses it costs to bring on a new employee. Absurd.

Next, another example of what this administration is all about--picking winners and losers! You have been unemployed for 5 months, the tax credit does not apply so you look less attractive to the hirer. Move along, continue cashing your Obama unemployment check, we don't need your application. Any legal implications? It has a little of that Affirmative Action stench to me.

Third, what prevents me the business owner from not manipulating the credit offer? I have been looking for a reason to toss out Pooky the burger flipeer so I fire him. Out with Pooky, in with  Cuz Eddie, the post-6 month unemployed dog washer. There is a net gain of ZERO in terms of unemployment numbers as one just replaced the other, but I now have a $4000 tax offset-- SWEET deal for me, BAD for the gubmint, HORRENDOUS for us the taxpayer.

Let's get real, the American business owner is not going to hire anyone for 3 simple reasons:

• The albatross known as Obamacare and all of its ramifications
• The uncertainty of the tax direction of this administration. As it is, this job's bill is funded by increased taxes on those who make over $200K, many who are the very owner of these businesses President What's-A-Lemonade Stand is trying to stimulate.
• Strangulation by regulation. During its first 26 months, the Obama administration imposed 75 new major regulations with reported costs to the private sector exceeding $40 billion.Business owners are now having to direct monies for compliant officers rather than focusing on growth.

This whole plan has nothing to do with jobs. The motivation is simply to develop a bill without considering any GOP input and then turn around and blame the GOP for nixing what is nothing more than a failure we have already seen, better known as The Stimulus Boondoggle of 2009. Unfortunately, the only one who remains unaware of the Obama chicanery is Obama himself.

Did I miss a phone call from Dr. Spock ? Last I recall, my Happy Meal aged kids never placed a single order. The government must think as parents we approach the counter and inquire, "Sally, can you help me out, I am a bit retarded with my pubic education and all. Let me be clear, I am a proponent of good eating choices. My wife can vouch that I don’t bring a shovel to the dinner table. She focuses our diet on REAL foods. We have two garden areas. My Colorado family will attest to my Healthy Choice dinners. I am aware of my height/weight proportions. It takes discipline, not governance.

What I am against is the spending of umpteen dollars by the destitute Federal 

government to influence and educate on us on areas we should have grasped as 2nd graders. I trust allocated funding by our States as well as our local school systems will be directed toward making wise decisions. There are passionate folks out there, ala Jamie Oliver and even a high school friend of mine who are committed to the cause. We do not need legislation mandating salt removal from restaurant tables, mandatory posting of nutrition content on drive-thru menu boards and a hypocritical First Lady trying to impose her ways on the fast food industry.

We get it---sugar-bad, salt-bad, fat- bad, couch potato-bad. We don’t need a 51^st state- McNanny. Can we get a compromise-- fried apple pie please.

More ridiculous waste. The USDA recently spent $2 million dollars (from the spare change drawer) to create this new food chart, also known as the Michelle Hierarchy of Feeds. Seriously, is this not ground-breaking? Let's create a PIE chart for healthy eating.Who would have known this without a $2 million dollar commitment! You could have offered that challenge up to a 2nd grader and offered a Ding Dong as a reward.

Government intervention in obesity prevention efforts has been an abysmal failure. Their biggest undertaking was the Nutrition Education and Label Act of 1990. Yes, nutrition labels began 21 years ago. America now ranks 9th amongst the Fattest Countries list with 74.1% of citizens over 15 years old being overweight. Wow- Americans don't read fine print--who would of thunk? I am a proud statistic, one too many Happy Meals growing up is where I place my blame.But let me guess, this will be the rhetorical response from the Left: "But Dave, if not for these efforts, we would probably ranked even higher". Yes, the same mentality that brought us the "jobs saved or created" figure Obama loves to boast about.

Oh well, with the debt crisis about to bankrupt us as the two parties form their plans of deception, I am sure Happy Meals will be off limits to the family budget regardless.

Yesterday, during the interview, President Barack Insane Obama stated the following: "Well this is not just a matter of Social Security checks, these are veterans checks, these are folks on disability, their checks. There are about 70 million checks that go out --I can not guarantee those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it".

Translation: "Nice Social Security check you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to it".

When all else fails, let's play the "scare" card. Let's pick winners and losers. Let's take hostages. Let's have class wars. Sound familiar? Can you say "Stimulus", "Obamacare" or "Bailout". $102 billion for those 3 line items with $172 billion forecasted revenue. ANY DECISION TO NOT PAY THESE FOLKS RESTS AT THE HANDS OF ONE BARACK INSANE OBAMA!

Maybe after yesterday's quote, Americans will finally wake up. Your Social Security and Medicaire payments that you so diligently paid into the system never went to the lock box. By the way, people who work in the White House, they’ve had their pay frozen since I came in, our high-wage folks.  So they haven’t had a raise in two and a half years".

Fact Numero Uno: Across the board Federal pay freezes went into effect January 2011, Obama began office January 2009. See link. Raises banned in 2009 were only for those making $100, 000 or more, not for everyone, as Obama cites.

When the White House was asked by a conservative blogger to respond to their own statistical data which is available to the public (and was contrary to what Obama said), they stated "Pay increases were given for a variety of reasons, ranging from promotions to additional responsibilities". So once again, Pres. Obamaurkel deprives us of the facts. A more credible response would have been "no one at the White House received a pay increases, unless they deserved it, or sometimes even when they didn’t, or because we changed their job title or because we gave them a few more tasks. Otherwise, absolutely no one got a raise".

I remember when the media assured us that everything the President (Bush) said was a lie, even when it wasn’t, and explained to us that this was because he was so stupid. But now they assure us that everything the President (Obama) says is the truth, even when it isn’t, and explain to us that it is because he is so brilliant. Once again, the mainstream media nowhere to be found. Well, excuse me, they have been beside themselves with the one thing that they believe matters most to Americans-- THEY FOUND CASEY INNOCENT! 

The fact is since Obama bamboozled 52% of the American populace. White House employees have averaged an 8% annual raise where the private sector has suffered at less than 3%.

I am demanding an Obama pay-freeze from my employer this year!

He blamed Republicans for delaying the budget process when, in fact, Democrats had absolute majorities in Congress for 600 days and failed to pass one. Obama's own budget proposal was defeated 97-0 by the Senate in January, yes Obama's Democratic controlled senate. Obama proposed it was time to begin taxing corporate jet owners even though Obama's Stimu-less program had tax incentives for corporate jet owners. The man who has played 17 rounds of golf this year, hosted 33 fund raisers and is headed to Marxist Vineyard in a month told Congress it was time to "get back to work". Any pattern?

Amidst all of his demonizing of his usual enemies, he forgot the correct ages of his daughters-- twice. But, since the pressitutes are way too busy concerning themselves with Michelle Bachman failing to know the correct birth city of John Wayne, you won't hear about that faux-pas.

Of course, MSNBC suspended Mark indefinitely and he has been sent to time-out with Anthony Weiner. He must also complete the Libtard Re-education Boot Camp.
